Celebration of CT Farms 2006

What better way to support farmland preservation in Connecticut than to celebrate the bounty of local food and wine? Honorary Chairman Paul Newman, Honorary Co-Chairwoman Faith Middleton and Honorary Co-Chairman Jacques Pépin hosted the Celebration of Connecticut Farms on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Moore’s Hill Farm in Sharon.

This award-winning Connecticut event, called "the hottest food event in the state" by Connecticut Magazine, has drawn attention across New England and sells out every year. We celebrated Connecticut’s farms and enjoyed a scrumptious feast prepared by the state’s finest chefs, danced to live music, bid on wild and wonderful silent auction items, and took horse-drawn hayrides through one of the most beautiful conserved farms in the Northwest Corner.

Last year, Honorary Chairwoman Meryl Streep with Radio personality Faith Middleton and Jacques Pépin hosted the 2005 Celebration of CT Farms.  New Morning accepted the invitation to join this award-winning Connecticut event, called "the hottest food event in the state" by Connecticut Magazine, which has drawn attention across New England and sells out every year. Attendees joined New Morning to celebrate Connecticut’s farms and enjoy a scrumptious feast prepared by the state’s finest chefs, dance to live music, bid on wild and wonderful silent auction items, and take a horse-drawn hayride through the one of the most beautiful conserved farms in the Northwest Corner.

New Morning's own Chef Carol Byer-Alcorace samples some of her delicious creations.
