Glad you could come to the Old Woodbury Town Hall for our fourth annual event. More than a hundred guests came, sampled and shared the festive evening. If you came, look for your photo (below)! If you didn’t, enjoy the show and make sure not to miss this community event next year. Thanks to all who came and shared the evening with us!
The music was fabulous - we owed it all to the dynamic duo of Abdoulaye Alhassane and Dirck Westervelt. Their compelling music of West Africa on guitar, banjo, and traditional instruments, provided a gracious backdrop to the evening. Woodbury musician Dirck Westervelt is a teacher at Chase Collegiate School and all-around versatile performer. Find out more about Dirck and his tremendous range of musical talent at: http://www.juddhill.com. Abdoulaye Alhassane, a member of the Songhai of Niger, from Gao, near the northernmost reach of the great Niger River, is a composer, singer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist.
Our most special partners again offered their local and handcrafted specialties for your delight: Hilary Hopkins herself- President of Hopkins Vineyard- http://www.hopkinsvineyard.com and Mary Kay Brown of Organic Vintages- http://www.organicvintages.com, with wonderful local, organic and low sulfite wines. Exquisite cow, goat and sheep cheeses from Cato Corner Farms, Colchester- www.catocornerfarm.com; goat milk chevre cheeses- plain, dill and scallion from Beltane Farm in Lebanon, http://www.beltanefarm.com, complimented by The Bantam Bread Company’s savory, crusty, wholegrain breads. Wonderful hot and fair-trade beverages, once again graciously on tap, hosted by Naren and Gunn Sonpal of Coffee-Tea-Etc. Goshen, CT. http://www.coffee-tea-etc.com. We could not have done it without all of their help and gracious donations. You make New Morning look and taste good too!
The exquisite prepared delicacies of New Morning’s Executive Chef, Carol Byer-Alcorace, did not disappoint. Her perfectly seasoned and roasted fresh natural turkey and companion dishes were a wonderful premonition of things to come this holiday season. Do not delay in ordering your all- natural fresh Vermont bird from the Store before they fly the coop again this year. (203-263-4868)
